Support of marginalized women in Burkina Faso
Cotecna made a donation of food and medicine to the Delwende Centre in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. This institution accommodates approximately 400 women who have been accused of sorcery and banished from their villages. Separated from their families, these women are welcomed by the Centre, where they work at spinning raw cotton. Fear of presumed sorcerers is a problem that has persisted in Burkinabe society for many generations, although there are signs that it is slowly subsiding. Other donations by Cotecna Burkina Faso included tables and benches for a school in Kamshoonghin, support for an association for women in Ziniare, and materials for the blood collection association SOS Sang.
