Country of Origin Verification is a service provided by Cotecna to ensure that the origin of shipments is as stated on the Customs declaration forms.
This service entails:
- document checks (shipping documents, production-related documents, materials purchase documents, etc.)
- on-site physical verification (monitoring of production processes and evaluation of workers’ productivity), and
- information gathering (regarding transshipment violators, other signs of contraband production).
Of note is that the country of supply is not necessarily the country of origin.
